The Bill of Rights for Dunderheads: How and Why it is Being Reiterated for the Fatally Ignorant in an Age of Civic Illiteracy, All Delivered in One, Long Sentence

One sad and telling symptom of America’s dereliction and imminently threatened demise under Donald Trump is that journalists, policy consultants, jurists, historians and Constitutional lawyers have had to go on air and give blow by blow, very basic and elementary descriptions or explanations of the basic democratic civic structures, rights, freedoms, privileges and laws under the Constitution, that most people had taught to them from elementary school on, and certainly by secondary school Civics and History classes, because the president daily exhibits and attempts to enforce his complete ignorance and disregard for the same, utterly confusing everyone while throwing red meat to the Far-Right anti-government, post-Tea Party, Evangelical conservative fringe (his base), his main, flagrantly unlawful billionaire corporate Republican donors (the surviving Koch brother, Robert Mercer, the De Voses, et al), and the fundamentally anti-democratic hidden power structures embedded in U.S. politics that seek a renewal of the repression of women’s Reproductive Rights, non-White/non-Republican voter suppression (as, in McConnell’s and Trump’s own words, if these factions’ votes weren’t suppressed, “there would never be another Republican elected ever again”), the return of the despotic, bigoted, sexist, racist, authoritarian norms, laws and structures they call ‘Judeo-Christian values,’ and the return of the Jim Crow South for all of America (evinced in the presence of ‘The Family,’ the Fellowship, Opus Dei, Bill Barr, Mike Pompeo, the Dominion, Mike Pence, the National Prayer Breakfast, et al, installed within the highest circles of power in the American government).
